Family Festive Traditions

With the beginning of December only a week away, we can all start to get excited and prepared for Christmas. To be honest I have been waiting for this time to come for a while now and feel that I can really start to get festive, plan and basically just talk about Christmas. It is 30 days away.

Christmas has to be my favourite time of the year and with Mabel and Martha growing so quickly I want to recreate the magic that surrounds it, just like when I was little. Everyone has their own traditions that they do so I wanted to list a few of the ones we already have along with new ones that we will hopefully be doing this year.

Youtube Space London With Britmums

I have been super excited about this event for a while and so when the day rolled around I was just giddy with excitement. You see I have been wanting to really get into Youtube and start creating memories I guess of all the things my family get up to. Being able to go to an event where I get to learn all the things I need to know before taking that leap really does make me feel incredibly lucky.

I have never been to any event like this before, not through making videos or by writing my blog, so this really did make me feel good about myself. Plus I got to meet so many lovely people, all who are in a similar boat, so it was nice to chat them and hey, I got to have a day out without the kids.

Make £1000 Before Christmas Challenge (Week 5)

Again the past week I have had poorly girls so I literally stopped doing anything for the whole week, which shows below. This week I have already put some stuff on eBay and I am waiting for that to hopefully sell and bring in some extra money.

Meal Plan 20/11/17

I had an email from Simply Cook asking whether I wanted to get a box again for £3 so I, of course, reactivated my account and received the 4 spices and recipe cards for this week. Also, I managed to pick up 2 of the Kellogs Advent Calendars at £4 each for both my girls as I thought this would be a fun way to start the day in the lead up to Christmas.

A Meaningful Gift Guide (Etsy)

It is always hard every year at Christmas to find the right gift for family and friends. While an expensive pair of shoes, a leather satchel, aftershave, the latest gadget are all great presents, I often find that it is the DIY projects like a hamper of someone's favourite things or a family picture that has been framed turn out to be the best. Have you not heard that saying 'its the thought that counts'.

You might think that it takes a lot of work and creativity to be able to do something like that which is why Etsy takes over the hard part. With so many sellers on the website, you should be able to find something that is handcrafted and has that personal touch for a range of interests and on different budgets.

Below I have listed some of my favourite items over on Etsy that will create meaningful gifts.

Christmas time can be extremely hard for people who have lost someone, especially in my family where my Grandad passed away a couple of weeks before Christmas Day. Having a personalised white feather in a bauble will mean a lot to so many people. As it reads on the ribbon "Feathers appear when angels are near".
