Marthas 18 Month Update

It is a special day today because Martha turned 18 months old. I know it is not a birthday milestone, but so much has happened over the past 6 months that I thought I would do an update.

Weight: 12kg
Height: 79cm
Head Circumference: 19 1/2 inches
Shoe Size: 3 1/2 F
Clothes: 12/18 months and 18/24 months
Nappy Size: 5

Martha just like her sister absolutely loves food and does like to try and use a fork and spoon, but is still yet to master it. There has been nothing that she won't eat but the one thing we have had to cut from her diet is fish. At the moment she is allergic to it and will be tested when she is old enough.

Summer Fun With Tesco Clubcard

This summer I have been trying to find things to do with the girls that will not cost a fortune. With the summer holidays being so long entertaining children can become quite expensive, but this is where Tesco Clubcard comes in.

Tesco has now introduced a contactless Clubcard along with making changes to their app to make things even easier for us customers to save money. Not only that, but Tesco have teamed up with new partners to give its customers even more choices when redeeming points.

If you already shop at Tesco then you would probably have a Clubcard, if not then sign up for one because there are lots of amazing offers that allow you to transfer your points into amazing deals. You collect 1 point for every £1 spent and all these points soon add up.

Meal Plan 14/08/17

I thought I would do my weekly shop at Aldi to see how much I could save. I managed to get a lot of items including household products and nappies for just over £65. If I had stuck to Ocado then I would have been paying an extra £30 which is just ridiculous. I compared it to Tesco and there was only a few pounds difference, around £68 it would have been. I therefore should be shopping at Tesco to get more for my money because even though it is a couple of pounds more, they have reduced items, free fruit for the kids, double seated trolleys, scan as you shop (which is amazing when you shop with children), and also I can get rewards from using my Clubcard.

Meal Plan:

Turkey Mince Burritos

Feta Vegetable and Rice Bake

Gnocchi with Pesto

Spaghetti Bolognese

Gammon with Mustard Mash and Peas

Mushroom and Potato Curry with Homemade Naan

Pork Chops and Balsamic Roasted Vegetables

Bathing Siblings Together

A friend of mine not long ago asked whether I was bathing Mabel and Martha together. I hadn't really thought much about it because we had been doing just that for so long.

When Martha was born Mabel was only 16 months old, so when hubby returned back to work after having 2 weeks off I came to realise how hard simple things were. Originally the girls would have a bath separately, one after the other, but then I changed it to separate days and it all just got too complicated.
I already had a newborn seat for the bath from when Mabel was a baby and decided that things would be so much easier if they both washed together. Of course trying to explain things to a then 17/18-month-old was a little difficult, but Mabel did understand that she needed to be careful.
