NEW YEAR

Every New Year's Eve I keep saying to myself I will do something for the next year, but it never happens. My husband and I usually cook a 3 course meal at home and celebrate the New Year with a bottle of Prosecco. Well, I drink the bottle of Prosecco and my husband (Doug) will probably have a few beers.

This time it was different as we now had a 3 month old ringing the New Year in with us. She was such an angel and was in bed by 7pm, which then allowed us to prepare, cook and eat our dinner all in one go. We didn't do the usual 3 course meal as we were still stuffed from Christmas, but we did have a main and a dessert, which were some brownies I had made Christmas Eve. After the meal we watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I was really getting into the film but as I was extremely exhausted I missed the ending and went to bed at 10:30. Doug woke me up when he came to bed at midnight to say Happy New Year which was lovely.

I could hear the fireworks and what seemed like someone playing a bagpipe. Cheers of delight and a happiness were being heard from all around and it made me think how extremely happy and content I am with my little family.

Bringing in the New Year as a wife and a mother really made 2014 such a great year. Now I can only wonder what 2015 has in store.
