Getting Outdoors with Hawkshead Clothing

Finding the best outdoor clothing isn't easy, especially with the little ones, so being able to review some of the Hawkshead clothing for not just the girls, but also for myself is very exciting.

Now we are in Autumn, the days have started to get colder and evenings dark and miserable, but that is no excuse to stay indoors. By having the right outdoor clothing we can continue to get out of the house and have lots of fun as a family. Which is why as soon as the clothing arrived we headed out to Grafham Waters to test it out.

The coats we were all wearing impressed me a lot as they are designed to be water resistant as well as nice and cosy inside. The Craghoppers Lindi Jacket Night Blue that I am wearing and the Craghoppers Freya Jacket Night Blue that Mabel is wearing are extremely similar, with a fleece lining partnered with the soft waterproof outer part and oversized hoods. Unfortunately, it did not come in Martha's size, but the Regatta Kids Hurdle Waterproof Reflective Hooded Jacket Duchess that she is wearing was perfect for what we needed. Martha is still getting used to running around, climbing, and basically just being upright on her feet, so this particular jacket was thin enough for her to move around, but thick enough and waterproof to protect her from the weather, which may I add is ever changing at the moment.

The hat that I am wearing is a Regatta Womens Frosty Knitted Bobble Hat Fig and I love it. Hats are something that I don't really suit wearing but with this one, in particular, is a really nice style and colour that makes it perfect for wearing over the autumn/winter seasons. The girl's hats are missing the bobble on top of the Regatta Kids Luminosity Reflective Knit Bobble Hat Bright Blush because size 4-6 does not have it due to choking hazards. This did not make any difference as the girls just looked adorable in them and it was actually the first time Martha did not pull a hat off her head, so bobble or no bobble it will keep them warm.

The weather started to get a little warmer as the day went on so we all took off our coats because we would be kept warm with the girl's fleeces and my cardigan. The Craghoppers Erica Cardigan Winterberry was my favourite item and probably my new favourite piece of clothing for the next couple of seasons. It is a wrapped style with extra length to the neck that has a concealed collar fastening. I can't tell you how many people have complimented me on it, in particular, they are loving the style and colour of it.

The girl's Dare2b Freeze Jam II Black Fleece is currently sold out on the website but still, check out some of the other options they have because they are really good. When I take the girls out I find it hard to clothe them because you need something that will last with all the exploring they do, as well as all the climbing and falling over. These fleeces are now my go-to item because I know they will do the job and keep the girls warm.

Overall the outdoor clothing from Hawkshead have been really good and I find them to be worth the money when you compare the style, features, and quality of the products. They are not just one-off items but are perfect for everyday outdoor use.

* We were sent these items for Free from Hawkshead for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.*
