As you are aware from some of my blogs both myself and Mabel have scarring from the burn accident we had in March. After being told it will take up to 2 years before Mabel’s redness will go and myself being scarred for life I needed to try something to improve the situation.
This brings me to Insta Natural Scar Gel Cream. It claims to be able to diminish and erase scars over time, by making them seem less visible with only using the gel twice a day over the scar area. It does not magically make the scar disappear but with lightening the area the scars should seem less noticeable.
Now I decided not to use this on Mabel because she hadn’t been prescribed it and I had not tried it myself. There were no signs on the bottle to say it was fine to use on a baby, so mothers instinct said no.
I however tried it on myself to see whether there was any difference. The first thing I noticed was the colour of the gel. It was brown and reminded me of tanning lotion. Upon application to the scar area my skin absorbed the gel and moisturised it, making the new skin that had come through less itchy allowing more time to heal.
The gel also had a little bit of a funny smell but after a while you got use to it.
I have been using this product for a couple of weeks and I haven’t noticed a change yet to the scars. If I was paying £22.95 for the small 30ml bottle I would expect it to of done something by now, or at least before the bottle runs out. I will continue to apply it and if anything does change I will update.
