Last week we took on the #RustlersHack challenge on a day that saw me running around left, right and centre. It was a day that had started so badly with us taking a trip to the doctors to check that Martha’s Croup was not in her chest, then we had to pick up Mabels prescription, do a small food shop to get some extras, visit nanny, do as much of the household chores as possible around half made IKEA furniture that needed replacement parts and making sure both the girls had lots of cuddles.
The Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burgers take only 90 seconds in the microwave, which is great because both girls are very impatient when it comes to food, and on this particular day, I really needed the convenience. Whilst the burgers were in the microwave it allowed me to get a few healthy vegetables together so the girls were having a balanced meal.
To go with the theme of convenience I had picked up a bag of crunchy salad, the small reduced fat tubs of hummus, grated some cheddar cheese, then sliced some peppers, cucumber and tomatoes. I displayed these on a chopping board so the girls can help themselves and show their creative side by making their own unique burgers.
Of course, helping themselves was their favourite part because they got to choose whatever they wanted on the chopping board. I also had not realised until I put the burgers on the plates that they were, in fact, smaller than the average sized ones which made it perfect for the girl’s little hands.
This meal was made up in minutes and it did not take the girls long to finish their plates. That is the one thing with children is that you definitely can tell when they like something because you get an empty plate, oh and in my case an empty chopping board as well.
Have you tried The Rustlers Hacking Challenge?
