I Moved From Blogger To WordPress (self-hosted)

It has finally happened. For a long time, I had been thinking about moving my blog from Blogger over to WordPress (self-hosted) and I finally took the plunge.

My blog is my hobby and is something I enjoy doing, otherwise, I would not have continued with it for over 3 1/2 years. I felt it needed a revamp, a change, and I would really like to turn this hobby into a profitable venture if that is at all possible at some point in the future.

I have to point out that I did not migrate my site over to WordPress myself, but rather than deal with the stress of whether I was getting things right or not, I teamed up with Laura over at Blogger2WP to do that part for me. For $79 you can get everything copied from your blog over to WordPress, plus you get a Free theme.Laura was very professional and made sure my mind was at ease every step of the way because it is a scary thing putting your trust in someone to control the many years of work you have done. Over a weekend while Laura was busy migrating my blog over, I was out with my family making memories and enjoying the little bit of sunshine we did have.

No stress. No Mistakes. No Wasting Time.

It has only been a few days so far and I till have lots of tweaking to do and I have tons of new things to learn until I am happy with it, but I can already see a massive difference in the way that my blog looks and I feel more confident in the way everything works. WordPress for me just seems to offer all the things I have been looking for, hoping for and the future looks positively bright.

  1. Wow, the timing of this post is so funny! I just spent my weekend migrating one of my websites from WIX to WordPress. It looks like it was a great move for you: your blog is beautiful! #brillblogposts

Thank You. It was always going to be a scary thing to do but I am over the moon I did it. Your site is so striking. I immediately want to just look at everything on there. x

I’m still on blogger so it’s interesting to hear how the move went – I must admit, I’ve always been put off thinking it would be ultra complicated and stressful !

It was a big step for me because I did not know what to expect, but my new site I love and am starting to get the hang of all the new things I can do. I do pay hosting costs each year but my site is my site now. If you did fancy doing it but do not want to deal with the stress of doing it yourself then I do recommend https://blogger2wp.com/. On their site I think they are still giving away the migration to WordPress for Free. Just click below the $79 where it says Want it Free? 🙂 x
