Last week we took a family holiday to Northumberland which with the weather made it a very interesting journey. Who would have thought that we would have snow in March that would cause quite a lot of disruption? Anyway, the weather was not going to dampen our family time and with our holiday cottage having a hot tub, it would certainly not stop me having a dip.
I was contacted about reviewing a piece of swimwear from the brand Hunkemoller just before I went away. Now I have to be honest, I had never heard of them before, so when I was looking through all their swimwear on their website, I was amazed at how gorgeous everything looked and that made for a very tough choice as to which one to pick to review.
I went for the Synthetic Luxury Swimsuit in Blue which retails at £48 because it was something so different to what I usually go for. Over the past few years, I had struggled with scarring on my thigh from an accident which included Mabel, but now I did not want to hide them anymore. Picking this swimsuit was not just about picking a piece of clothing, it was allowing myself to come out of my comfort zone and wear my scars with pride because they are beautiful.
My scars tell a story. They remind me of the time when life tried to break me down but Failed.
The swimsuit surprised me a little bit with the fit because I had not realised that the bottom part of the swimsuit only covers a small section. Usually, with something like this and the high leg I would have felt uncomfortable in it, but I really didn’t. It made my shape come alive and I felt very womanly. The lace-up part at the front looked really nice, but it was the back that had the added straps that really made it a ‘wow’ swimsuit. Overall I was incredibly pleased with it and the one thing that matters was that I felt confident.
