Fitbit Is Changing My Life

I have never been one for buying new technology or gadgets, mainly because I don’t see the point in spending lots of money on something that I would probably never use. However, back in April I decided to spend my birthday money on a Fitbit Charge 2. I know a £120 gadget!

The reason for this was I wanted to track my fitness and work on gaining a healthier lifestyle. I hadn’t realised until using the Fitbit just how much time during the day I was sitting down, my sleep every night was disturbed, I barely drank any water during the day, I had no idea how much or little I was eating, and that 10,000 steps which I thought I had been achieving takes more effort than I realised. There is a massive difference to actually seeing it in reality of what my lifestyle was, which meant that I can then take steps to improving it and track it along the way.

Using my Fitbit I can now see quite clearly how many steps I am doing. If at certain times of the day I have not achieved what I wanted, then it is time to get up and get moving. Some days I like to over exceed and hit other targets which makes it such an easy simple option for me to get fitter within my daily homelife routine.

I have been tracking my sleep and heart rate making sure I have been getting enough good hours rest whilst also having a fit healthy heart. Being able to see based on a couple of factors of where I stand in the carido fitness level, which is an estimated score based on other women my age, is great to see because I am in the good/very good section. Therefore to me it means I am fitter than I thought.

Setting goals has been great when it comes to weight loss, but I am yet to hit my goal. Being able to track food and drink has really helped because it has allowed me to refocuse my brain to making better decisions. I used to drink lots of coffee, but that has decreased so I am drinking more water than other drinks, and I am able to say no to a bag of crisps and choose a piece of fruit instead. It has got me out of the unhealthy routine I was in when it came to food and drink and is something that will help me for a long time coming.

The best thing that Fitbit has allowed me to do and is why it is worth every penny is that it is changing my whole life and got me really motivated. It it not just about getting fitter and having a healthier lifestyle anymore. It is about improving my motivation with life in general and getting myself believing that I can achieve absolutely anything I set my mind to.

A simple gadget that is transforming my life.

    I’ve been thinking about getting a fitbit for the past few weeks. I’ve been trying to do at least 10,000 steps a day and at the minute I only have my phone that counts my steps. It’s working ok, but it does mean I have to take my phone everywhere with me. It is particularly annoying when I go for a walk in my lunch break and I don’t have a pocket! Having a fitbit would make my life so much easier!

      It makes things much easier because you really don’t have to think twice about anything as it is attached to your wrist. It also has walking challenges on the app that you can do which is always great fun. I would say go for it. 🙂
