Toucan Box Review 2018

When I got an email to see if I wanted to review a Toucan Box, I thought yeah great, it would be good to do an update on it because I reviewed a box back in May 2016. Toucan box is a subscription service that sends out every 2 weeks or every month fun activities and craft projects for your little ones to do. It is aged for 3-8-year-olds and each box provides all the materials you would need to complete each of the themed projects inside. The price is £5.95 per box which includes delivery.

When Mabel received her box through the post she was extremely excited because she could read that the box was for her. However, after opening it up, I was a little disappointed because we received the exact same themed box, with the exact same themed crafts inside that we did 2 years prior. My initial thought is this must be the standard FREE Box they send out to people, but still, it should be updated at least once a year.

Anyway, as it is for the child and Mabel was only little back in 2016, she was not at all bothered or even remembered that she had already done it before. Plus, this time around Martha got to join in and help.

It did not take long for Mabel to get really stuck into the crafts. She was able to do the projects all by herself, well with a little bit of help from Martha, but it was a really great thing to watch them both engaged in the same activity. Once the Parrot was completed it was onto making a treasure map and I can’t tell you how excited kids get when they see paintbrushes. It is like the most amazing thing in the world. Both activities really kept the girls engaged and interested for about 10 or 15 minutes, which I had hoped it would have been longer, but still, any minute is worth it, right?

Overall, I am still a little disappointed with having the same box because I would have loved to of reviewed a different theme that Toucan does, but I have to say it is all about the girls, and they loved it. Would I subscribe to something like this, you know what, I probably would because to see Mabel grab the box from the letterbox and get excited at something being for her was very special, and because this company allows me to add on a sibling box as well means that both girls will have their own crafts to do.

*I received a Toucan Box for Free for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.*

I do really enjoy subscription boxes especially when it is aimed at children, and I like that they can get creative with the themes. 🙂 x

Yeah we ordered a free box recently and got this one. It’s a shame they don’t update it. My little one is 2 so still too young for it but I was just testing the waters as you never know with the kids hehe.

I did that a couple of years ago because Mabel had started to become interested in doing creative things. It was just a real shame that this year it was exactly the same because it is always great to try new projects, ideas and themes. 🙂
