This Is What The Girls Think About Second Hand Gifts.

Is it wrong to give children second-hand toys for Christmas or Birthdays?

I don’t think so and neither does Mabel and Martha

You see quite a while ago when my parents were cleaning out their loft they came across lots of my old toys from 1996. Looking through them I just knew the girls would absolutely love playing with them one day, and that day happened to be on Christmas morning when they unwrapped them all.

You see, to them, it doesn’t matter whether the toy comes in a box, or has been used to play with before, or has some slight fading, because to them they have lots of fabulous new toys to play with. These sorts of toys are quite expensive now so being able to save where we can is important, plus just look how happy the girls are with their Animal Hospital, Animal House, The Pet Shop, The Stables, The Vet Cars, etc.

And hey, having the girls play with toys I did over 20 years ago is quite special. Maybe they will save them for their children one day.

What a great idea. Like you said all that they care about is having something new to explore and play with. Although pricey we opted for merlin passes so that rather than having more 5 minute wonder toys and gadgets we can enjoy lots of lovely family day out together throughout the year.

That is a good idea with the Merlin Passes. I have looked at those because at certain times of the year they have an amazing deal on. It is definitely worth spending money on things like that and creating lots of lovely memories. 🙂

Toys is toys!!! Great idea and far better than stock piling useless plastic, make each toys life span as long and as valid as possible!

Exactly. And once the girls have finished playing with them it can go to someone else who will hopefully enjoy it just as much. 🙂
