SMOL Laundry Capsules and Dishwasher Tablets

How often have you forgotten to add laundry capsules or dishwasher tablets to your shopping list? I know for me it is quite often and I am tired of it, plus I am wanting to help reduce plastic in some way, so here I introduce you to a subscription service SMOL.

What is SMOL? It’s a company that has developed not only laundry capsules but also dishwasher tablets which are 100% water soluble. The packaging is 90% recycled plus it’s fully recyclable and it has been designed in a way that it can fit through your letterbox; making it easy to be stored away out of reach of children.

The subscription is very easy to change and adapt to your life. Every so often, (the days between boxes is up to you), you will receive a box of 24 laundry capsules at £3.85 or a 28 pack of dishwasher tablets for £4.20. If you don’t use your dishwasher that often like I do then the 28 pack will last me a good 3/4 months, therefore my next box won’t be dispatched till then. Of course, I can change it if I start using it more, and it is the same as the laundry capsules, which with prices like this and free postage works out cheaper than most popular brands.

How does it wash, I hear you ask? The ‘bio’ laundry capsules (you can choose non-bio if you prefer) worked as well as or even better than the previous brand I was using. Stains were removed, colours did not fade and everything smelt fresh and clean.

This was the same case for the dishwasher tablets. I have struggled for ages to find a good dishwasher tablet that will clean well, especially on a full load. So, using this I was extremely sceptical. But, I found it to work. It actually cleaned really well on a full load, (apart from the odd bit, which is still a massive achievement), and it was still better than what I have tried before.

Overall, I have been pleased with both products and I do feel they are good value for money compared to some branded ones. They are currently doing trials of each one for £1 delivery so you can try them out too and see what you think. The ease of having them delivered means I no longer have to run out or forget to put them on my list again. On top of this, the packaging is a step to reducing plastic waste which is an important issue right now and one the company want to continue to tackle in the future to create a 100% recycled packaging.

Have you tried SMOL? What did you think?

It’s one less thing off the shopping list, plus it is a step to reduce plastic waste too. 🙂
